The city has shut down the 'flushing tunnel' for an overhaul. Built in 1911, this tunnel pumped clean(er) water into the canal. To combat the stagnation and stank caused by the lack of new water, the city has installed an oxygenation system to aerate the canal while the tunnel is worked on. I don't think it works.
Mount McKinley or Denali (Athabaskan for "The High One") in Alaska, USA is the highest mountain peak in North America and the United States, with a summit elevation of 20,320 feet (6,194 m) above sea level.[1] The CIA World Factbook lists its summit elevation as 6,198 metres (20,335 ft).[3] It is the centerpiece of Denali National Park and Preserve.
These photos were taken along Ship Creek, a river right in downtown Anchorage. There is amazing fishing and wildlife, despite being sandwiched between industrial areas. Highlights were the salmon viewing area, a close-up look at how the fish get past the dam, and a moose.
